Sighting in Saint-Gatien-des-Bois, December 11, 2013

Calvados, Normandie, France

Sighting on December 11, 2013 in Saint-Gatien-des-Bois (Calvados, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

A middle-school student was riding in a moving bus and looked at the sky through the windows. They made out a phenomenon of very small apparent size, comparable to a bird about one kilometre away. It consisted of two black balls joined to each other by a black bar.

The account is thin. The witness was observing from inside a moving vehicle, and no corroboration could be found. According to GEIPAN, a deeper investigation would yield very little additional information. The case is classified C because of the lack of detailed information and cross-checking: the data are insufficient to offer an explanation.
