Sighting in Montmédy, November 21, 1976

Meuse, Grand Est, France

Sighting on November 21, 1976 in Montmédy (Meuse, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 8:55 pm, a witness noticed a red streak in the sky, which then vanished. Shortly afterwards, this witness and a second person watched a white point of light together. It followed a curved path that sloped downward.

No other account of the phenomenon was gathered. GEIPAN classified the case as C (insufficient data): there is too little information to go beyond describing the movement of a point of light across the sky.

Account rewritten by SkyUnknown from the investigation report published by GEIPAN (CNES). The original text and case documents are on the official record.
