Hérault, Occitanie, France

Sighting on January 19, 1975 in Montpellier (Hérault, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

After a press article reported the movement of an unknown object seen by several people at around 6:45 pm, the gendarmerie tried to track down witnesses. Only two people agreed to come forward, on condition that they remain anonymous.

According to them, the object seemed to spin on itself. It moved slowly away toward the horizon on a descending path, then climbed back up quickly and disappeared. The phenomenon was seen again the following day at the same time.

The accounts were consistent, but precise information was lacking. GEIPAN therefore classified the case as C, insufficient data. The object observed was spinning on itself while moving.
