Sighting in Fabrègues, October 9, 2015

Hérault, Occitanie, France

Sighting on October 9, 2015 in Fabrègues (Hérault, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 9 p.m., a motorcyclist was riding along a small road when they noticed a dark, oval-shaped object in a field about 50 metres away. They stopped to watch. They heard no noise. The object was hovering above the ground, and the witness saw people go inside it. The observation lasted about ten minutes.

Frightened, the witness rode on, then stopped again a little further along. They saw the object leave quickly on a straight path. No other witness account was collected.

GEIPAN found the statement surprisingly short given how strange the phenomenon was and how long it had been observed. It therefore asked the witness to go to the gendarmerie, which they verbally agreed to do. Despite several reminders from the gendarmerie and GEIPAN by email and phone, the witness never went. Because of this lack of information, GEIPAN classified the case as category C.
