Sighting in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, August 28, 1994

Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France

Sighting on August 28, 1994 in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

The account was collected in October 2009, many years after the events. Four members of the same family were having a picnic when they noticed an unusual point that was coming closer to them. It turned out to be an immense copper-coloured cylinder with portholes.

The craft hovered about 10 to 15 metres above the ground. It then changed direction and speed and vanished instantly. No photograph of the craft or of the site was taken at the time.

GEIPAN classified the case as C, meaning insufficient data: the age of the observation makes any investigation difficult, if not impossible.
