Sighting in Nantes, September 2, 2002

Loire-Atlantique, Pays de la Loire, France

Sighting on September 2, 2002 in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At about 10 p.m., a witness watched a series of luminous points for roughly 25 minutes. They started at the horizon and travelled one after another to a spot where they seemed to "fall". The witness also saw a triangle with luminous points on it. No sound was heard during the observation.

The GEIPAN classified the case as C (insufficient data), because no further information was available that would have allowed an explanation. Its conclusion is limited to describing the observation of luminous points that seemed to fall.
