Sighting in Petite-Rosselle, May 10, 2015

Moselle, Grand Est, France

Sighting on May 10, 2015 in Petite-Rosselle (Moselle, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

The witness reported in August 2015 an observation made during the night of 9 to 10 May 2015, at around 3:40 a.m. In the sky, they saw between twelve and fifteen bright, round, light-coloured objects arranged in a semicircle. They heard no noise during the two minutes the sighting lasted.

This was the only account collected, and it provides too little information for a full analysis. However, the sight of many luminous balls on a weekend night, in a semicircular arrangement, is reminiscent of Thai lanterns, probably released nearby at the end of a private party. Because of insufficient data, the GEIPAN classified the case as C.
