Sighting in Pornichet, April 20, 2008
Loire-Atlantique, Pays de la Loire, France
Sighting on April 20, 2008 in Pornichet (Loire-Atlantique, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).
What happened
A passenger travelling in a car photographed clouds through the windscreen. When looking back over the pictures afterwards, they noticed a spot that puzzled them. They had not seen it at the time the photos were taken.
Since nobody saw anything with the naked eye, there was nothing to confirm what the spot showed. GEIPAN points out that it is hard to analyse photographs containing an unexplained mark when no visual sighting backs them up. A flaw in the windscreen or an insect could also account for the mark, but the file lacks the detail needed to settle the matter. The case was classified C, meaning there was insufficient data.
