Sighting in Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas, May 1, 2014

Gard, Occitanie, France

Sighting on May 1, 2014 in Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas (Gard, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

Around 6:30 p.m., a witness was closing a window when they noticed four white circles in the sky, at a height they put at roughly 200 metres. The circles moved very slowly toward the north, making no sound, as they passed through clouds. The phenomenon soon disappeared.

No other witness came forward and there is no photograph. The investigation noted that the circles may simply have been gaps in the upper part of a white cloud. The case was considered of little strangeness and not very robust, given how brief the sighting was and that it rested on a single testimony. GEIPAN classified it C, because precise information was lacking.
