Sighting in Saint-Junien, November 25, 1978
Haute-Vienne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France
Sighting on November 25, 1978 in Saint-Junien (Haute-Vienne, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).
What happened
Between 3:30 and 3:45 pm, a witness at their workplace noticed a motionless object in a cloudy sky. The object was rectangular and gave off a very bright light. The witness and a colleague then watched it move at very high speed in opposite directions, and this happened twice.
The control tower at Limoges-Bellegarde airport confirmed that two aircraft had flown in the area between 3:20 and 4:14 pm. Because the sighting took place at a distance, the information available did not allow the object to be analysed. GEIPAN therefore classified the case as C, meaning insufficient data.
