Sighting in Savigné-sur-Lathan, July 29, 2007

Indre-et-Loire, Centre-Val de Loire, France

Sighting on July 29, 2007 in Savigné-sur-Lathan (Indre-et-Loire, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

In May 2008, a witness reported an observation made together with several other people on 29 July 2007, at around 8 p.m. A dark, spherical object marked with irregular light-coloured patches had crossed the sky. It had a protrusion at the front and moved in a straight line, on a path running from west to south-east.

The sighting lasted about thirty seconds. The witnesses heard no noise and noticed no smoke.

GEIPAN classified the case as C, meaning there was insufficient data. The witnesses had probably seen a balloon, but this hypothesis could not be checked because too much time had passed since the observation.
