What happened
A lone witness was driving when they briefly spotted an unidentified aerospace phenomenon far off to their right. They moved closer, pulled over onto the roadside and watched it for about twenty seconds. The object was elongated and motionless, and seemed to be made up of many cubes of different sizes, with shades ranging from greyish white to black. The witness had the impression that it was giving off heat, which distorted its appearance. They tried to photograph it with their phone but lost sight of it for roughly two seconds. When they saw it again, it looked like a small light aircraft, white and grey with black stripes. It then moved slowly before disappearing behind the roof of a house.
The account was reported more than two years after the event, with no photo or video, and the case rests on a single person, so its consistency is low. Three hypotheses were examined. A crop-spraying aircraft for vineyards was judged unlikely because of the constraints of that activity (size of plots, altitude limits, disturbance to residents). Model aircraft were ruled out, as the area was too far from regulated zones. A light aircraft or glider fits the final phase well, and an airfield lies nearby. However, the local flying club confirmed that no flight had been recorded that day, and the delay made further checks with the CNOA or private platforms impossible. This hypothesis also does not explain the strange appearance during the second phase; the "perception flaw" the witness mentioned remains to be demonstrated. GEIPAN classified the case as C, owing to insufficient data.
