Sighting on July 29, 1987 in Toulon-sur-Arroux (Saône-et-Loire, France). After investigation, GEIPAN considers this phenomenon unexplained (class D).

What happened

At about 6:45 a.m., two witnesses driving in a car noticed a large, bright white mass moving quickly above the municipal forest. It had the color of polished metal and appeared to be roughly 20 meters long.

The sighting lasted only a few seconds. The witnesses noticed neither any noise nor any smell. The object then disappeared below the horizon line.

GEIPAN could put forward no explanation and classified the case as D (unexplained).
