What happened

During the night of 15 to 16 August 2004, a witness standing on their balcony noticed lights in a clear sky on two separate occasions. They were golden, twinkling, and moving at high speed.

The first sighting took place at around 3:50 a.m., when the lights were arranged in a triangle. The second came at around 4:20 a.m., when they were lined up and followed the same path as before.

The investigation notes that Lille-Lesquin airport is nearby. No further information could be gathered about this case, and because the data were insufficient, the GEIPAN classified it C.
