Saône-et-Loire, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France

Sighting on January 27, 1977 in Verosvres (Saône-et-Loire, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

In the evening, starting at 20:30, two motorists watched a luminous phenomenon moving slowly. It was a ball-shaped object, about the apparent size of a football, giving off a very intense white light. It moved silently, swaying on its axis.

The main witness could not say how far away it was or how fast it was moving. They later saw a second point of light move across the sky. The witness left the scene at 21:45, after the phenomenon had disappeared completely.

No other testimony was collected. Because of the lack of information, GEIPAN classified the case as C (insufficient data).
