Gironde, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France

Sighting on February 21, 1984 in Vers Saint-Medard-en-Jalles (Gironde, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 7:15 a.m., a witness driving a car noticed three red points of light in the sky. They got out of the vehicle and watched the phenomenon for about a minute: the three red lights formed a triangle, with a green light shining at its centre. The whole thing stayed motionless at an estimated altitude of about 200 metres. It then disappeared, moving slowly away.

No further information was gathered about the sighting. Because the data were insufficient, the GEIPAN classed the case as category C and described it as a luminous phenomenon in the sky.
