What happened

At about 6:30 pm, several witnesses noticed a luminous phenomenon in the sky that lasted only a few seconds. They described a round, orange-colored shape moving from the southwest toward the northeast, with a luminous trail behind it.

The descriptions and drawings made by the witnesses led GEIPAN to conclude that they had probably seen an atmospheric re-entry. The case was classified B (probably identified), the multiple sightings being consistent with that kind of event.
