What happened

During a regional flight, at around 3:50 a.m., the crew of an aircraft saw a moving point of light. It travelled in the opposite direction to the aircraft's route, and its brightness faded gradually.

The GEIPAN investigation concluded that the crew had probably witnessed a meteor falling. The light was too low in the sky to be a satellite. The case was classified B, probably identified.
