Sighting in Abbeville, November 18, 1995
Somme, Hauts-de-France, France
Sighting on November 18, 1995 in Abbeville (Somme, France). GEIPAN identified the phenomenon with certainty: it was a light from the ground (searchlight, laser, vehicle…) (class A).
What happened
At around 7 p.m., a witness noticed large luminous circles turning in the sky. The investigation showed that a nearby Opel garage was running a promotional campaign at the time and was using an advertising laser projector. At the investigators' request, a test was carried out, and it reproduced what the witness had described.
GEIPAN classified the case as A: the luminous movements seen were the light display of the advertising laser projector.
