Sighting in Anglet, August 22, 2010

Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France

Sighting on August 22, 2010 in Anglet (Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 8 p.m., a witness noticed a round, luminous object. Over about five minutes it drew closer, then sped off eastward at very high speed and was no longer visible. A minute later the phenomenon reappeared in exactly the same spot where it had first been seen, and then quickly left again toward the northwest.

No one else reported seeing it. The questionnaire the witness completed was incomplete, which made the account unusable for analysis. Because there was not enough information, GEIPAN classified the case as C.

Account rewritten by SkyUnknown from the investigation report published by GEIPAN (CNES). The original text and case documents are on the official record.
