Sighting in Aron, March 28, 2019
Mayenne, Pays de la Loire, France
Sighting on March 28, 2019 in Aron (Mayenne, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).
What happened
At around 11:00 pm, a witness saw a bright red rectangle in a clear sky, followed by several orange discs arranged in a pyramid-shaped structure. The whole thing rose into the sky and vanished into the clouds. For a few seconds it left traces that the witness likened to snow dotted with small pink spots. No other account was collected.
The GEIPAN rated the case as highly strange but of low consistency, meaning that the amount of reliable, objectively supported information was small. In their questionnaire, the witness described weather and astronomical conditions that did not match at all those verified for that date. Yet in a message sent in November 2024, they said they were sure of the date. Since there was only one witness, the data could not be checked any further. Under GEIPAN methodology, the stronger the strangeness, the greater the consistency required. The case therefore remained in category C, unusable for lack of reliable information.
