Sighting on July 18, 1993 in Beuvraignes (Somme, France). GEIPAN considers the phenomenon probably identified (class B).
What happened
During the night of 17 to 18 July, between about 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., a witness at home noticed a display of white luminous circles spinning at high speed in the sky, like a ballet. Two circles were visible at first; after about an hour, a third one joined them. The witness stopped watching the phenomenon at around 2:30 a.m.
GEIPAN classified the case as B (probably identified). Nothing was proven, but the most likely explanation is that the witness saw beams from searchlights or laser rays, of the kind used for advertising or in nightclubs.
