Sighting in Brest, September 13, 2006
Finistère, Bretagne, France
Sighting on September 13, 2006 in Brest (Finistère, France). According to GEIPAN, it was most probably an aircraft (plane, helicopter…) (class B).
What happened
At ten in the morning, a witness who was with other people noticed a circular, luminous phenomenon hanging motionless in the sky above the Iroise bridge. The sighting lasted three to four minutes. The phenomenon then moved away on an upward path until it vanished.
The account gathered was very brief. After checking with the maritime region authorities, the GEIPAN considered it highly likely that the witness had seen a small aircraft: a white civilian single-engine plane was indeed in that area at the stated time. The case was classified B, probably identified.
