What happened

At about 10:45 pm on a Sunday evening, several witnesses noticed a moving point of light in the sky. When it came to a stop, it twinkled and changed color. Gendarmes called to the scene also saw a point of light about the size of a star, moving slowly toward the east.

GEIPAN's investigation lacked information on the direction and the height of the observation. It nevertheless concluded that this was most likely an astronomical object, possibly the star Vega. The case was classified B, meaning probably identified.
