What happened

The same witness described two separate sightings made on different dates.

The first took place around 25 January 1979, at about 10 p.m. The witness was in a car with another person when they noticed that the vehicle was lit up by a bright light above it. They stopped and saw a triangular object giving off lights of several colors, mostly orange-red. Two lit searchlights pointed toward the ground. The object moved slowly and made a whistling sound. It was about 5 meters from the witness, who nevertheless could not estimate its size. It then disappeared behind a hill.

The second sighting dates from around 10 February 1979, at about 8 p.m. From their apartment, the witness heard a droning noise from outside, then saw an object made of two parts, emitting white and red lights and moving from north to south. When it reached the area above the town, a series of bright, moving objects, also giving off lights, joined it for about half an hour.

The phenomenon lasted a long time, yet no other testimony was collected. Because of insufficient information, GEIPAN classified the case as C (insufficient data).
