What happened

At around 3 a.m., a driver saw a stationary, very bright green object for a few seconds. The witness put it at roughly 300 to 400 metres away and thought its shape resembled a bowler hat. They heard no particular noise. A reddish color then appeared at the rear of the object, which moved off quickly toward the northeast and disappeared.

No other witness account was gathered about this phenomenon. The GEIPAN classed the case as C, meaning the information available was insufficient to offer an explanation.
