Sighting in Cornebarrieu, July 22, 2022

Haute-Garonne, Occitanie, France

Sighting on July 22, 2022 in Cornebarrieu (Haute-Garonne, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 11 p.m., several people were in a garden. One of them noticed a light in the sky and drew the others' attention to it. The witnesses then saw a black mass moving silently along a straight path that climbed upward. It eventually vanished into the distance. The witness also mentioned red or orange lights located "below" the object.

Only one account was collected, and the investigation rated the case as having poor consistency. Essential information is missing: the exact address of the observation site (the witness gave only the name of a neighborhood), the directions in which the phenomenon appeared and disappeared, and details about the red or orange lights. The witness placed the appearance relative to a line of trees at the back of the garden and the disappearance relative to the village church, but these landmarks cannot be used without knowing where the witness was standing. Because of this lack of data, the GEIPAN classified the case as C.
