What happened

Two separate sets of observations were made in the same area that evening. In the first, between 11:30 pm and midnight, witnesses noticed flashes of light inside a ruined house next to their home. The investigation quickly established that the cause was a short circuit on an electric fence.

The second sighting took place earlier, between 8:45 and 9:15 pm. A driver and their spouse saw a yellow, triangular luminous phenomenon. It seemed to follow them for a while, then vanished abruptly.

None of the gendarmerie brigades stationed in the area saw the phenomenon, and no further information could be gathered. GEIPAN classified the case as C (insufficient data), describing it as a strange luminous phenomenon observed from a car.
