What happened
On several evenings in April 1979, between 11 pm and midnight, two people noticed three flashing white and red lights arranged in a triangle in the sky.
On 17 April, between 11 pm and 11:30 pm, the two witnesses were walking home along a country path. One of the lights then dropped quickly toward the ground. It seemed to come from a flat, circular object about two metres across. They watched for several minutes, but the object, about 200 metres away, gave off such an intense light that they could not tell whether it was on the ground or hovering just above it. Frightened, they went home with a tingling sensation in their eyes.
The gendarmerie found no traces on the ground or in the surroundings. No other witness account was collected. Because of the lack of information, GEIPAN classified the case as C (insufficient data).
