What happened

At around 7 p.m., a witness noticed a cylindrical object standing upright and drifting slowly across the sky. To follow its movements more easily, the witness rode after it on a motorbike and filmed it.

By their estimate, the object was at an altitude of about 600 metres. It looked roughly 15 metres tall and 2.5 metres in diameter. Its colour resembled aluminium, and bright points like headlights were visible on it. It moved slowly, at an estimated 10 km/h or so.

The GEIPAN investigation could not identify what the witness saw, and the case remains unexplained (class D).
