Sighting on January 26, 1988 in Port-la-Nouvelle (Aude, France). After investigation, GEIPAN considers this phenomenon unexplained (class D).

What happened

At around 9:15 p.m., a witness saw a large object several times, flying at low altitude. To them, its shape suggested a helmet with two wings. The object made no sound as it moved. A white light shone from inside it and then turned orange. In the end, the object disappeared as it moved rapidly away.

No further information could be gathered about the phenomenon. The GEIPAN classified the case as D (unexplained).
