Sighting on January 10, 1994 in Hautbourdin (Nord, France). GEIPAN considers the phenomenon probably identified (class B).

What happened

At around 5 a.m., a couple were at home when they noticed a luminous oval shape. It moved back and forth at some height and never came down to the ground. They also heard a whistling sound.

The investigation concluded that it was most likely an advertising laser projector being tested at a nightclub in the area. The phenomenon had also been seen in several neighbouring towns, where the witnesses had been told about the tests. GEIPAN classified the case as B, probably identified.
