Sighting in Hem-Hardinval, October 14, 1954

Somme, Hauts-de-France, France

Sighting on October 14, 1954 in Hem-Hardinval (Somme, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 5 p.m., four witnesses noticed a spherical craft to the south-west, at a height of about 40 metres. It moved silently and at very high speed. The object showed the colours of the rainbow.

GEIPAN holds only a very brief information sheet, without the witnesses' own accounts. A spherical, multicoloured object travelling at great speed is reminiscent of a bolide, but the file is too thin to settle the question. The case was classified C because of insufficient information.
