Sighting in La Bazoge, January 14, 1977

Sarthe, Pays de la Loire, France

Sighting on January 14, 1977 in La Bazoge (Sarthe, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 6:40 p.m., two witnesses noticed a spherical luminous object that aroused their curiosity. It first moved from south to north, then from east to west.

The gendarmes went to the scene and saw, in turn, a circular luminous object drifting slowly toward the west. Its apparent diameter was larger than that of a star. It remained visible until 9:30 p.m. No other witness account was gathered about this phenomenon.

The GEIPAN classified the case as C, meaning insufficient data: the investigation only established the observation of the movements of a luminous object and could not go further.
