What happened

A witness reported on 19 June 1976 three sightings of luminous phenomena that had taken place between April and June of that year, each time around 11:30 pm and near their home.

The first was on 7 April. The witness saw a cigar-shaped luminous object in the sky, which came down on the path leading to their house and shone a strong light in a single direction. In May, at about the same time and almost the same spot, they saw two very bright craft, one of which seemed to be on the ground on the path near the house. They immediately woke their brother and parents, and all of them watched the lights for about an hour and a half without being able to make out a precise shape. No noise was heard, and everything vanished suddenly. One of the witnesses later found marks on the tarmac where the craft was thought to have landed. On Friday 16 June, the witness noticed a strong glow over a piece of land close to their home. It was after these three events that they decided to come forward.

The gendarmerie could establish nothing about the first two sightings because the report was made so late. For the third, the owner of the land stated that they had lit a wood fire in their field that evening to grill food. GEIPAN classified the case as C, insufficient data.
