Sighting in Le Port, November 25, 1979

La Réunion, France

Sighting on November 25, 1979 in Le Port (La Réunion, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 12:45 a.m., a witness was in their garden when they noticed an unusual luminous phenomenon in the sky. Two pale green trails were moving side by side, parallel to each other, along a northwest–southeast line. Each trail was led by an object. The objects travelled at very high speed, and no sound was heard.

Many people were out that night because of a local festival, yet no other witness account and no further information about the phenomenon was gathered. GEIPAN classified the case as C (insufficient data): it was an observation of rapidly moving luminous phenomena, but the available information is too limited to go further.
