What happened

Shortly after 5:30 in the morning, two gendarmes on duty, sitting in their vehicle, saw a red and green fireball cross the sky very quickly. It left a trail of smoke behind it.

Several other witnesses later came forward, and the press reported on the sighting. GEIPAN concluded that it was most likely a meteorite or a piece of space debris re-entering the atmosphere. The case is classified B, probably identified.
