What happened

Around 11:50 pm, several people saw a luminous phenomenon low in the sky for a few seconds. It was a round, coloured object, blue according to some witnesses and orange according to others. It moved quickly and horizontally from east to west, then dropped onto a descending path and vanished in a flash of light, which only some of the witnesses saw.

No trace was found on the ground. GEIPAN classified the case as B (probably identified): the witnesses most likely saw an atmospheric re-entry.
