What happened

On 22 February 1980, gendarmes read an article in the weekly magazine "Spécial Dernière", issue no. 572 dated 15 to 21 February 1980. The article reported that the husband of a restaurant owner had been abducted by extraterrestrials. According to the article, the events took place on 21 January 1980, at around 9 a.m., in the Vierzon forest.

The gendarmerie opened an investigation, which very quickly established that the story had been made up entirely. The witness admitted to the hoax.

The GEIPAN classified the case as A: it was a fake abduction by extraterrestrials, staged for publicity purposes.
