Sighting on August 28, 2007 in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique, France). According to GEIPAN, it was most probably a reflection or photographic artefact (class B).
What happened
Two people were on their terrace in the early evening when they noticed an unusual flying object. They watched it for three or four minutes, at some point between 7:00 and 7:10 pm. The object was round and flat, with a transparent dome on top, and its underside looked dark. It rose into the sky while swaying from side to side, moving from east to west. The witnesses heard no sound at all.
No other witness account of this phenomenon was collected.
Following the investigation, GEIPAN concluded that the witnesses had probably seen a circoflex-type kite. The case is classified B (probably identified).
