Sighting in Périgueux, September 12, 1995

Dordogne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France

Sighting on September 12, 1995 in Périgueux (Dordogne, France). GEIPAN considers the phenomenon probably identified (class B).

What happened

At around 6:30 in the morning, several witnesses, independent of one another, saw a group of white lights turning in the sky. They said the lights sometimes seemed to follow their vehicles. The phenomenon made no sound, and the sighting lasted about ten minutes.

Despite all the searches carried out along these lines, the investigation could not trace the exact source of the lights. However, the witnesses' descriptions match those usually given when advertising laser projectors are seen. GEIPAN considered it possible that tests of this kind were being carried out in the area at that hour. The case was classified B, probably identified.
