Sighting in Plancoët, December 6, 1979

Côtes-d'Armor, Bretagne, France

Sighting on December 6, 1979 in Plancoët (Côtes-d'Armor, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

Between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m., several people noticed unusual lights in the sky that puzzled them. They first saw a white luminous mass that seemed to move from west to east. Five orange light sources then appeared. Their shape differed depending on the witness: some described lines, others oval shapes. The lights moved off toward the east and gradually faded out until they disappeared.

No other testimony was gathered about this sighting. Because the information available was insufficient, the GEIPAN classified the case as C (insufficient data) and concluded it was an observation of unusual lights.
