Sighting in Puisieux, July 14, 2009

Pas-de-Calais, Hauts-de-France, France

Sighting on July 14, 2009 in Puisieux (Pas-de-Calais, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

The account was collected on 19 December 2011, more than two years after the events, which dated back to 14 July 2009, at around 1:30 a.m. From a roof window, the witness had watched for a long time as a spherical, white, very bright phenomenon moved about the sky in a random way. They had heard no particular noise.

No other witness account was gathered. GEIPAN rated the strangeness as medium, but the consistency of the case as insufficient, because the description was brief and there was only one witness. It could therefore not reach a conclusion and classified the case as C, for lack of sufficient information.

Account rewritten by SkyUnknown from the investigation report published by GEIPAN (CNES). The original text and case documents are on the official record.
