What happened

At about 11:30 pm, several witnesses near their home noticed a bright red ball giving off a very intense glow. It seemed to fall from the sky, close to where they were. One of the witnesses stated that at 12:45 am they saw the ball rise again and move away.

The witnesses and the gendarmerie searched the area but found no trace of any object having fallen. No further information about the phenomenon was gathered. The GEIPAN recorded the event as the observation of a falling luminous object, but because the data were insufficient, the case is classified C.
