What happened
The gendarmerie learned of this sighting through the local press. At around 1:30 in the morning, several people noticed a point of light at the top of a hill. A large, bright orange triangle then gradually appeared. Once fully visible, the object looked more like a cone and seemed to be moving toward the witnesses. Frightened, they left in a car. The phenomenon eventually disappeared behind a row of trees.
Shortly afterward, the witnesses went back to the spot with other people, but saw nothing more. The gendarmerie found no marks on the ground at the places the witnesses pointed out, and gathered no other testimony from local residents.
GEIPAN classified the case as C: it involved an orange, triangular luminous phenomenon, but the available information was insufficient to reach a conclusion.
