What happened
The owner of a second home found a hole in the ground of the property's parking area and called the gendarmerie. They thought a meteorite might have caused it. The gendarmes went to the site straight away and were later joined by a team of firefighters, who carried out tests in the soil. The hole measured about 15 cm across and 20 to 25 cm deep.
The report was forwarded to GEIPAN, as provided for under the agreement with the gendarmerie. The owner had not seen any unidentified aerospace phenomenon, and no object, such as a meteorite, was found in the hole.
The case had first been classed B, on the basis of a probable meteorite fall. It was later judged to fall outside GEIPAN's remit, because no phenomenon had been observed and no object was found on the ground. It is now classed C, for lack of information.
