Sighting in Saint-Jean-d'Hérans, November 8, 2002

Isère, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France

Sighting on November 8, 2002 in Saint-Jean-d'Hérans (Isère, France). GEIPAN considers the phenomenon probably identified (class B).

What happened

Two witnesses, a couple, watched a luminous phenomenon for about half an hour, from 11:45 pm to 12:15 am. It was made up of about a dozen points of light arranged in an oval, which rotated clockwise. In the middle of the oval, roughly six other points of light stayed fixed in place. The witnesses heard no sound.

The investigation could not confirm this with certainty. However, judging from the witnesses' description, it is likely that they saw, from a very long distance, the effects of an advertising laser projector. GEIPAN classified the case as B (probably identified).
