Sarthe, Pays de la Loire, France

What happened

Between half past midnight and one in the morning, the witness was riding a moped when they saw a craft go by that they did not recognize. It had a flat base topped by a rounded shape. The whole underside was lit up: yellow lights surrounded a larger red light in the centre.

Frightened, the witness reported that the craft followed them for three kilometres, all the way to their home. It then stopped above the house before leaving again at very high speed.

The GEIPAN classified the case as B (probably identified). Based on the description of the lights, the witness most likely saw a helicopter-type aircraft pass by.
