Sighting in Saint-Privas, February 1, 1993

Corrèze, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France

Sighting on February 1, 1993 in Saint-Privas (Corrèze, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 8 p.m., three witnesses noticed luminous "balls" in the sky, and they saw them again the following day. By their account, there were either three or five of them, each about as small in appearance as a star, and they made no noise. The colour varied between green and orange. Some of the balls hung motionless, while others moved across the sky faster than an aircraft. Each sighting lasted a few minutes. One of the witnesses said they had already seen the same phenomenon the year before.

No further information could be gathered. With too little data to work with, the GEIPAN classified the case as C. Its conclusion simply records the observation of several star-sized luminous balls, with no explanation established.
