What happened

A witness saw a luminous ball pass by at around 6:15 p.m., travelling from the southwest toward the northeast. The source gives no apparent size, colour or duration for the sighting.

The weather station and radar at air base 105 in Évreux did not record any phenomenon of this kind. Regional press later reported that two other people had seen the same phenomenon.

GEIPAN concluded that the witness had observed the passage of a luminous ball. Because there was not enough information about the phenomenon, the case was classified C (insufficient data).
